Danish Pig Congress returns! Register now

SEGES Innovation is holding its annual pig congress in Herning, Denmark from 25-26 October 2022. The event is the largest of its type in Danish pig production.

The Danish Pig Congress 2022 offers an insight into the industry – both politically and professionally – and an update on the industry’s opportunities and challenges. The two- day event comprises technically based presentations, a general meeting and a gala dinner as well as the opportunity to network.

The Congress will be opened by the Chair of the Danish Agriculture & Food Council Pig Research Centre Erik Larsen and Director Christian Fink Hansen. Their presentations will give an insight into the latest knowledge across the pig sector and the industry’s challenges, objectives and results in recent years. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has created unrest in the global food market, into which the director of the Alliance of Democracies Foundation will provide an insight during a debate. Martin Kristian Brauer, Chief Economist at the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, will provide a briefing on and a prognosis for economic developments in Danish pig production.

Over the two-day congress, you will also have the opportunity to be updated on the latest insights into optimising pig housing units, zinc-free weaning of piglets, sustainable feeding and breeding goals in pig production.

The impact of social development on consumer preferences provides the basis for a presentation on consumers of the future and the trends in global and local consumer behaviour as they impact on the sale of pig meat. Several presenters will talk about China and Chinese pig production.

Visitors from abroad

Although the Danish Pig Congress is targeted at Danish pig producers, veterinarians and advisers, the Congress has also attracted interest from beyond Denmark in recent years. This year, representatives from the trade and journalists from Sweden, Germany, Holland and the UK are expected to attend.
