Denmark’s annual pig congress in Herning, which took place on 25th and 26th October 2022, is a major event that brings together the majority involved in the industry. It combines informative presentations by industry professionals with networking opportunities and always begins with the Annual General Meeting. Its overall aim is to improve and safeguard future pig production in Denmark.
This year’s congress consisted of more than 60 presentations aimed at knowledge-sharing and inspiration. Topics ranged from the climate and sustainability, animal welfare, zero-zinc feed, future consumers and much more.
The Annual General Meeting provided around 2000 attendees with an insight into how the industry stands politically, professionally and economically, including their respective impact on individual farms. The AGM also provided an opportunity for discussion and for awards to be handed out.
Networking across the industry is an important aspect of the event and this year’s congress was no exception.
