Danish bacon production site in Rochdale
Danish Crown is investing £100m in a 30,500sq.m. state-of-the-art processing facility in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, which is due to open early 2024.
Building on the company’s rich heritage and history of exporting pork products to the UK since 1887, Rochdale will be a specialist site dedicated to the production of Danish bacon and gammons, with its primary purpose to slice and pack products for Retail and Foodservice customers in the UK.
This significant investment shows Danish Crown’s commitment to the UK market, serving British consumers with meat that has been produced in a more sustainable way, and to providing hundreds of sustainable jobs for the local community.
Danish Crown is committed to upholding the highest standards in food safety and quality. Through this new site, Danish Crown aims to demonstrate its ability to valorise products from ’farm to fork’ with complete control around quality, traceability and sustainability standards throughout the value chain, bringing their expertise to the customer, directly.
