Online set to grow

The UK already leads the rest of Europe in the proportion of grocery products bought online. The online market is expected to grow to £11 billion in the next five years.

The IGD forecasts that nearly 10% of grocery products will be purchased online by UK consumers by 2015. The UK already has the highest proportion of grocery products purchased online in Europe.

As reported by Food Manufacture, the value of online grocery sales is expected to top £11 billion within five years. Many branded manufacturers now carry direct links on their own sites to retailers offering their brands online.
