‘Love British Food’

The home industry will be promoting its produce strongly during the Olympic Games.

The opportunity to exploit the patriotic fervour generated by the current London 2012 Olympics has not escape the attention of British farming interests. A 'Love British Food' campaign will run during the period of the Olympic Games, from 27th July to 12th August, with a wide range of promotional activities undertaken by many of the major supermarkets and foodservice operators.

In June, the NFU published a 'Review of Grocery Retailer CSR Policies' . The study concluded that, while there were many good examples of major retailers supporting British produce, there was still much to be gained by developing even closer links with the grassroots of British farming.
